I can’t help but laugh whenever I go to comb by daughter’s hair. You would think her whole world was coming to an end. The same goes for when I go to wipe off her face and hands after a meal. She haaaaaates it!
It makes me smile.
I am that mom where my daughter’s baby book is packed with a ton of information. I am still pretty good at writing a lot of things down, but it’s these moments I know she too will look back and laugh on.
“Madelyn, at two years old, your favorite place in the house was the bathroom! For some reason you LOVED getting into the toilet!”
I finally put those “safety door knobs” on all of the doors leading to a bathroom in the house. We have three. So to her, “that is SO cool! Three toilets to stick my little hands in? Awesome!”
While I was putting up the child safety knobs, she just stared and finally looked at me with the cutest little look and said, “oh noooooooooooooo!” She knew her days of getting into a toilet were atleast coming to an end for a little while.
“That is until I learn how to squeeze, turn and push all at the same time!” Oh and I am sure she will in NO TIME!
Oh and did I mention brushing teeth yet? Oh she loves doing it on her own… but when it’s mommy’s time to take to over and “help” that’s when there is a HUGE problem! I just smile, and say, “Oh I love you.”
At the end of the day, don’t let the little things get you so frustrated. It’s those times you will miss the most and look back and smile on.
